The Move to Utah!

So I'm playing major catch up today! This blog has evolved into a journal which as you can tell is mostly about Daysha! Jill's sister-in-law has been printing her blog as a journal for her son and what a great idea - there's a website you can just send your blog address to and they print and bind the blog for you - I love it. It's incentive enough for me to be better about keeping it up to date. So in an effort to capture as much as I can of her first year I'm going back in time a couple months to our move to Utah. The road trip wasn't bad at all - thanks to my amazing parents who flew out to help us pack and make the drive! My Dad and his buddy Scott drove the UHAUL, Zane drove his work truck which was packed to the top of the ladder racks and Mom and I drove the green truck with the camper and pulled the trailer with Zane's street bike and anything else we could stuff in there! We broke the trip up into two days and stayed in beautiful Rawlins Wyoming for a night which worked out perfect for Daysha, who as always, was a trooper on the trip! She did really great with Grandma giving her snacks and changing her Baby Einstein movies regularly! Ahhhh thanks Baby Einstein we love you so! We were almost home, near Park City and the trailer Mom and I were pulling got a flat, thank goodness Zane was behind us and saw it so he pulled us over, we didn't have a spare so he drove to Park City to get the tire fixed, we were on the road in no time! We rented a warehouse/shop for work before we left Utah while visiting before the actual move so we luckily had a place to store everything from the trucks while we looked for a place to live. Somehow we still have all kinds of household items at the shop but it's big enough to handle a little storage so that's probably where it will stay for now! Well as stated in the last post, we're here, found a place and all is well!

Last Weekend in Colorado Pics!

Well we've made the move, it was so much work, it's amazing how much "stuff" you own you don't realize until you move. We thankfully had a garage sale the weekend before we left and got rid of that "stuff" - it lightened our load and made us realize - there's something to be said for the simple life...all those things we had to have, we don't miss and can't remember even what they were! We've found a house in Sandy, close to the house Zane owned when he lived here before moving to Colorado. It's a super cool area, from our back porch it looks like you can reach out and grab the mountains - I forgot how close they are everywhere you look here, it's amazing and beautiful! The house we are renting has turned out to be so nice, our landlord is such a great lady, we've been really lucky - she had the entire house re-carpeted the day before we moved in! It's really nice and peace of mind while our little crawler is cruising! She's almost mastered the stairs and is walking around furiture while holding on, I can't believe it! I feel like I always say "I can't believe it" but these little people are amazing and these milestones seem to happen one right after the other. I have to remember that anytime may be the last time I see the things she's doing now and just enjoy every moment!

New Dress from Nana Caduto!

Oh my gosh, this little Hawaiian dress Nana Caduto got for Daysha while vacationing in Hawaii is adorable! Ihad to snap a few photos today and share! We've got another tooth coming in, the front central which makes 5 now, boy is teething rough, I feel for the babies, I know what a tooth ache feels like and I'm sure it's nothing compared to what a tooth breaking through the gums, after going up and down for several weeks, feels like :o( She's been a drooling trooper though - she's been doing really great nearly sleeping through the night (she has twice so far in between the teeth), we're working on it! She's crawling like crazy and thinks she's ready to stand and walk - yep, that's right, every chance she has to stand next to something, she does. Crawl baby crawl, for at least another 6 months! Mobile, curious life for an infant is an amazing thing and keeps mom and dad on their toes! Life is great, she's a doll!

Travelin'

So we spent all of April traveling, we went to Utah for almost two weeks, then to Idaho for 10 days and back to Utah for over a week while Zane took his business tests - which he passed with great scores!!! I'm so proud of him, it's alot of work trying to get a contractor's business license -whew will we be glad when it's hanging on the wall! We drove the trip and were amazed at how well Daysha did, we all know how rough it is in a car for several hours and we did a couple days of 10 plus hours, she's a champ! We planned around nap times and had the help of Baby Einstein movies, it all worked out! We were so glad we were able to make it to Idaho for the annual Easter festivities (Daysha's first Peepe's!) with Zane's family, it was a great time. Zane's cousins Justin and Emerald have a daughter, Cyprus, who is about two months older than Daysha, she's soo cute! Can't wait to get back to beautiful Idaho, what an amazing place it is!

See My Foot!

Oh so cute! Daysha is doing great, we've had a few rough days and nights as she has a couple more teeth coming in, from what I understand the most painful ones, the cuspids - that's right, not the upper central teeth I expected to see next! She's now sitting up on her own, crawling and pulling herself up to her knees while holding onto tables or whatever is around - she's mobile! I love this little outfit her Auntie Jill got her, adorable! Blue is definitely one of her colors!

Camping in Moab, Utah!

Our little Angel is a camper, she loved it! She's been soooo great on this trip. We stopped in Moab for 4 days on our way to SLC so we could break up the trip a bit. She putted (very slowly around the campground!) around with Dad on his motorcycle, after hanging out in his gear bag while he got ready - too cute!

Bikin' With Dad!

One of the many qualities I love about my man is his determination! He's been looking forward to the day he could bike with Daysha and was determined to make it happen! I was hesitant to put her in the trailer as it's recommended that they don't ride until at least 1 year because of "shaken baby." Zane, taking my worries into consideration, decided to put her car seat in and secure it with tie-downs (the car seat is highly recommended over the lame straps we saw in most of the trailers, especially at a younger age), it's worked fabulously and as you can see, she loves it! It's easy to tell when she's content as she falls asleep - ahhhh the life of a babe, what I wouldn't do to crawl inside that trailer, snuggled up in a shooshy blanket, have someone pull me around in the fresh air and take a nap!
