Destry's 1st Birthday!

Wow, hard to believe this little guy is a year old already! He's such a joy in our lives, I can't imagine life without him! Destry weighs 23 pounds, has 6 teeth, loves to eat pretty much everything, has the most adorable smile, beautiful blue eyes and is such a happy boy. He loves his binky, his blanket, stuffed animals, playing with his sister, flirting with girls (yes it's true, he'll pick a girl out of any crowd go up to her and ham it up with the biggest smile you've ever seen!), and most of all his "da da" he has become very attached to his daddy and understandably so, Zane is such an amazing dad! We look forward to many more birthdays to come, love seeing this little boy learn and grow and are so grateful he's a part of our family!

Update: Destry started walking a couple days after his birthday!

Christmas 2010!

This year we spent Christmas with the Rogers' side of the family, it was very special for us and especially for all the kiddos - they really enjoyed being together at Grandma's house! Kyson's kitchen was the party hit, they all loved playing with it! As always we had some amazing food and just a great time being lazy and being together, I love the holidays! I have so many wonderful memories of Christmas time as a child, we only spent one Christmas at home in SLC and the rest we traveled to Vernal to Grandma and Grandpa Johnson's house. I wondered this year how and if I could make the memories for our children as special and amazing as they were for me growing up, and decided they will be as long as we are with family and by creating our own traditions. Christmas has a whole new meaning now, and it's so amazing with the kiddos now!

Daysha's 1st Dance Recital!

Daysha started dance in September after her 2nd birthday - it took about 5 weeks until she was really comfortable going in by herself, I struggled with "am I a bad mom, should I pull her out of dance if she's not enjoying it?" but we stuck to it as I decided it was best for her to learn not to give up and take the easy way out. I'm so glad we stuck to it, she absolutely loves going now and counts down the days until she gets to "dance with girls!" She had her first dance recital December 2010 and the girls couldn't have been more adorable! We weren't sure how she was going to react once she got on the stage and looked out into the audience of hundreds of family and friends watching her, I think she was stunned initially but after a few seconds just started dancing, we couldn't have been more proud! Grandma and Grandpa came to watch, they were babysitting Kyson and Spencer so the boys got to come see her dance too! Destry made his way to Grandma's lap and pretty much danced the entire time he was watching the dancers on stage, too cute! We've got a couple of little boogy babies in our house and just love watching them!
